The P8 combines a round brass finger spinner with a spring-and-ball detent mechanism. Turn the engraved outer dial through its indexed positions, or hold the center caps to spin the body.

The Book of Changes Eight Trigrams version has eight detents and trigram artwork. The Solar Terms & Zodiac version has 24 detents and a more detailed circular calendar design. Both use a fixed, non-removable detent ring.
